Children's Program

The Children’s Program has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Children's Program ordinarily occurs at the same time as adult services. Children start their morning with the adults, and then are invited to the front of the room, and presented with a symbol to take back to the adjoining room for their program.
Two adults share on-site leadership of the children’s activities. One is bilingual, Spanish/English. Generally, they share joys and concerns enjoy a story, and participate in an activity that correlates with the message of the story.
This year we are in year two of a curriculum created by a Unitarian Universalist (UU) minister to support early elementary school age children in understanding the seven UU Principles. While our children are primarily within this age range, we incorporate pre-K age children and welcome those who are older than elementary.

We also lead the children in walking The Rainbow Path of Unitarian Universalism:

Year I of our “Walking the Rainbow Path: Celebrating All the Colors of Love” curriculum introduced the children to making a commitment to setting a financial goal to a worthy social action. They decided in collaboration with Heifer International to fund a beehive.
Not only did the children enjoy watching their contributions accrue toward their $30 U.S. goal, but they were curious to know where the people live who would be afforded a much better life because of having the marketable honey from their bees. We're hopeful we may become pen pals with them.
