UUFSMA Endowment Fund Mission/Vision Statement

Mission of the UUFSMA Endowment Fund - Committing to the Future
It is the mission of the UUFSMA Endowment Fund to enhance and support the long-term mission of the UUFSMA. Our Endowment is intended to provide a strong and lasting financial foundation which will nourish the congregation and the Fellowship’s programs.

Vision Statement – Stewards for the Future
The UUFSMA Endowment Fund is a partnership between the members of our Fellowship and the Fellowship itself - a partnership based on the idea of mutual stewardship.  When donors give to the Endowment Fund, they are creating a legacy of stewardship that can last for years to come. Through the Endowment Fund, the Fellowship makes a commitment to its members to act as a good steward of those donated assets. Our assets are invested in the Unitarian Universalist Common Endowment Fund, which manages millions of dollars of assets in a socially responsible manner.

Fellowship members will vote to decide how the funds are spent.  Ordinarily, there will be no disbursements before the endowment reaches $500,000 US dollars in its principal.

Objective of the UUFSMA Endowment Committee – Managing for the Future
The objective of the Endowment Committee is to enable UUFSMA to promote funding of specific needs that support its continuing mission and ensure its financial stability.  The Committee will seek to provide a perpetual source of income to benefit four current categories:
  • Support for projects that are not part of the Fellowship operational budget
  • Future capital expenditures which may arise, and
  • Other purposes that enhance the mission of the Fellowship.
