The Social Action Committee can now help you discover more ways to support our San Miguel community. Here is a list of all local community service organizations, with purpose, contact information, and websites (if available).
For Citizens of the U.S.
Below are organizations the UUF’s Social Action Committee has vetted that have 501(c)3 status in the U.S., allowing for charitable tax deductions if you file in the US:
If you are looking to offer support to a Mexican A.C. that the UUF supports and has carefully reviewed, and you would like a tax deduction, you can work through the San Miguel Community Foundation, which has 502(c)3 status in the US, allowing for charitable tax deductions. Ninety Five percent of your donation goes to the organization you select when working through the Foundation:
If you would like to give to CEDESA you can work through Midday Rotary of San Miguel. If you would like to give to El Charco del Ingenio, and a tax deduction in the U.S. or Canada is not a priority, you can give directly through their website.
For Citizens of Canada:
You can give to several worthy NGOs in San Miguel and receive a charitable tax deduction in Canada by working through Amistad Canada. These organizations include:
