for children and youth between the ages of 5 and 15.
Lessons, drawn from the UUA Tapestry of Faith curricula include stories from such diverse sources as world religions, science, history, folk tales, legends and current events. While most of our classes are conducted in Spanish, all of our teachers are bilingual and English-speaking students are actively welcomed. Classes are free and any needed school supplies are provided. Older youth (11 to 15 years) are also welcome to join our youth group (UUth Explorers) for periodic social gatherings and field trips throughout the year. Each class also includes a healthy snack.
The schedule for the 2025-2026 class year is as follows:

The lesson "One Person Can Make a Difference” introduced the students to the story of Craig Keilberger, a 12-year old Canadian boy who read an article about child labor in Pakistan and made up his mind to do something about it. He inspired six of his friends to join him in forming a group called Kids Can Free the Children. Together they made it possible for children to get an education instead of jobs. And that was just the beginning of their human rights journey.

When 10-year-old Marissa comes home and tells her mother she’s angry with her best friend who was mean to her at recess, the mother encourages her to dig a little deeper and consider why her friend might have acted the way she did. By putting herself in her friend’s shoes, Marissa learns an important lesson about compassion and kindness.
