Chalice Lighter Opportunity Awarded to the
Minister in Residence Project!
The Committee on Ministry is thrilled to announce that the UUA Southern Region has selected us for the Chalice Lighter award in support of our Minister-in-Residence project. They are as excited as we are about our plans to contract a bilingual Minister (for 1-2 years) to help us better serve and expand our Mexican membership.
This is a crowd-funding mechanism that will draw donations from individual “Chalice Lighters” and from congregations who choose to support us by holding a special collection. We will be grateful for any funds that can be raised in support of this important mission.
The Recruitment Task Force -- under the skilled guidance of co-chairs Margo Johnson and Kathleen Nolan -- is shaping up nicely. We will be sharing more news on that soon, so stay tuned!

The Committee on Ministry (COM) has begun the process of recruiting our Minister in Residence. The Call for Expressions of Interest (click here) outlines what we are looking for. To generate interest and get feedback on our specifications, this document was widely circulated through informal channels prior to the launch of the formal recruitment. This promotional phase invited potential candidates to speak directly with our minister to learn more about our Fellowship and its needs.
In March 2024, with the help of the UUA Ministerial Transitions office, our “Call” document was transformed into the required format and uploaded. UUA receives and registers all applications. |
