Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico!
We are a spiritually and culturally diverse congregation of about 200 people of all ages from many countries who endeavor to empower people toward integrity, joy, and community service. We welcome people of all ages, races, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
All we do is centered around seven Unitarian Universalist principles, which include:
* Inherent worth and dignity of all
* Justice, equity, and compassion
* Acceptance and encouragement of one another toward spiritual growth
* Free and responsible search for truth and meaning
* Right of conscience and use of democratic process
* World community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
* Respect for the interdependent web of all existence

"Respetamos todos los estilos de vida dentro de su red interdependiente y trabajamos por un mundo justo y pacífico. Alentamos la búsqueda de la verdad y la comprensión total. Nos esforzamos por mantener compasión en nuestras relaciones y buscamos valores que beneficien nuestras vidas y las vidas de los demás. Este es nuestro convenio." |
We meet on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. upstairs at the Hotel Posada de la Aldea at Ancha de San Antonio 15 for spirituality, socialization, and social action. Our Sunday attendees include many via Zoom.
In addition to continuing live Zoom services, UUFSMA has returned to in-person Sunday services at the Hotel Aldea. Wearing masks is optional.
For decades, since founding in 1987, UUFSMA has generously supported local NGOs in their work for our Mexican neighbors. Past activities were coordinated by the Fellowship’s Social Action Committee. Beginning in 2024, UUFSMA’s growing commitment to social action led to the establishment of the UUFSMA Social Justice Foundation. This new organization is laser dedicated to global fundraising and partnerships with U.S. and Canadian UU congregations for sponsorship and volunteerism in addition to individual gifts.
The Foundation carefully vets NGOs which apply for grants, and coordinates volunteer activities by UUFSMA members and friends. The expanded breadth of the new Social Justice Foundation will result in more grants than ever before possible to support children, women, migrants, and environmental justice.
